In March 2026, the global trade pattern of aluminum profile doors and windows continued to adjust. With the implementation of new Russian customs policies and the tightening of EU trade barriers, Chinese export enterprises are forced to accelerate compliance upgrading. At the same time, the localized layout in Southeast Asia continues to deepen, and transit trade has become an important path for enterprises to avoid risks. Through measures such as certification adaptation, local factory construction and channel optimization, Chinese aluminum door and window enterprises have achieved steady breakthroughs in the complex international environment, with the overseas market penetration rate steadily improving.
Russia Raises Compliance Threshold; EAC Certification Becomes a Hard Indicator for Exports
With the full implementation of Russia's new 2026 customs supervision policies, the compliance requirements for Chinese aluminum doors and windows exported to this market have been further tightened. It is reported that the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation has made it clear that all imported goods will be inspected on a per-shipment basis starting from 2026. Among them, building materials such as aluminum doors and windows must be compulsorily equipped with EAC certification, and products without certification will be 100% detained. At the same time, a complete set of documents such as Russian labels and component compliance certificates must be provided to cooperate with the SPOT supervision system to realize the "three-in-one" comparison of goods flow, document flow and capital flow. The previously widely used GOST single-country certification is gradually being replaced by EAC certification, and only some specific goods are still recognized.
To seize the Russian market, domestic enterprises are accelerating certification adaptation. Leading enterprises such as Fujian Beta Doors and Windows have completed full coverage of EAC certification, and at the same time adapted to Russian standard requirements such as ГОСТ 23166-99, optimizing product performance such as wind pressure resistance and air tightness to ensure compliance with local building standards. In addition, enterprises have calculated costs in advance to cope with the impact of the new policy that Russia's import value-added tax has been raised to 22% and customs miscellaneous fees have increased by up to 2.4 times. Some enterprises have optimized logistics through the China-Russia Railway Express to shorten the delivery cycle and reduce customs clearance risks. The industry expects that the export volume of Chinese aluminum doors and windows to Russia that have passed compliance certification will increase by more than 25% year-on-year in 2026.
Localization in Southeast Asia Accelerates; Chinese Enterprises Increase Investment in Production Capacity and Cooperation Layout
Supported by RCEP tariff dividends, Chinese aluminum door and window enterprises continue to deepen their presence in the Southeast Asian market, with localized production and cooperation becoming the core layout direction. Recently, Yantai Jiafeng Aluminum Technology has completed the equipment installation and commissioning of its factory in Dipl, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and officially launched localized production, focusing on high-grade aluminum windows with waterproof, thermal insulation and energy-saving properties to help upgrade local old doors and windows, which has become an important practice of Chinese enterprises serving "Belt and Road" countries. Earlier, Conch New Materials' Indonesia Jakarta door and window project has been successfully put into production, with an annual output of 50,000 square meters of aluminum alloy doors and windows, and quickly radiates the Indonesian and surrounding Southeast Asian markets relying on the localized operation system.
Enterprise cooperation and project breakthroughs are advancing simultaneously. Shenyang Yuanda Aluminum Industry successfully won the Indonesia JAC curtain wall project with a bid amount of about 100 million yuan, responsible for the construction of 53,000 square meters of curtain wall projects, injecting Chinese strength into building a landmark building in downtown Jakarta. At the same time, enterprises such as Zhejiang Lianchuang Doors and Windows have set up offices in core markets such as Indonesia and Malaysia, reached in-depth cooperation with local building materials dealers, optimized the supply chain layout, and their product pricing is 15%-20% lower than the industry average, with significant cost-effectiveness advantages, further improving the market penetration rate.
Transit Trade Continues to Heat Up, Becoming a Key Path to Avoid Barriers in Europe, America and Australia
Faced with trade barriers such as anti-dumping and countervailing investigations in Australia and high anti-dumping duties in the EU, third-country transit trade has become the mainstream response method for Chinese aluminum door and window enterprises. Data shows that between 2024 and 2025, the export volume of aluminum products transshipped via Malaysia surged by 140% year-on-year, 37% of which were finished or semi-finished door and window products. The customs clearance delay rate via Malaysia is only 1/3 of that of direct exports, greatly reducing trade risks. Leveraging Malaysia's geographical advantages, enterprises apply for preferential certificates such as the ASEAN Certificate of Origin (Form D), enabling them to enjoy zero or low tariffs in markets such as the EU, effectively avoiding trade barriers.
In addition, enterprises are simultaneously optimizing their export strategies. In response to the requirements of the EU's CBAM mechanism, enterprises such as Jiangsu Opal Doors and Windows have strengthened low-carbon technology research and development, adopted recyclable aluminum materials to reduce product carbon footprints, and obtained EU EPD environmental certification to enhance product compliance and competitiveness. In response to Australia's AS2047 standard, enterprises have optimized product wind pressure resistance and corrosion resistance, and prepared certification and origin documents in advance to cope with the final ruling of the anti-dumping and countervailing investigation to be announced on April 29.
Industry insiders said that 2026 will be a crucial year for Chinese aluminum door and window enterprises to upgrade overseas compliance and optimize their layout. International certifications such as EAC and CE, localized production capacity in Southeast Asia, and third-country transit trade will become the core support for enterprises to break through. As enterprises continue to adapt to overseas market rules and deepen localized operations, the competitiveness of Chinese aluminum doors and windows in the global market will be further enhanced, and the overseas growth space will continue to expand.
